Good morning PLL/NSLL Families!!
Believe it or not, spring is almost here!! And so are Little League sign-ups.
I wanted to reach out to everyone to let you know that we are working hard in the background to get our registrations active. The logistics of credits/refunds from last year is delaying us a little but but our Webmaster (Stacey Joyce) and Treasurer (Dave Duguay) are working to get us active ASAP.
In the meantime I thought I would send a note to everyone to update you on a few other things:
* As most of you know, based on the very positive experience during last year's summer and fall seasons, North Stonington Little League and Pawcatuck Little League are combining forces this year. This will allow all of our players and families to do a few things...most importantly it should allow all of our teams and divisions the opportunity to play close to home and not rely on a district-driven schedule to play a full season. It will also allow us to leverage our combined resources (fields, volunteers, etc) to create an even better experience for all of our families and players.
* At this time we are looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors to fill out the complete roster. We are looking for the following positions:
AA (Minors 6-7 year old) Baseball Director
If you have any questions on what any of these roles will entail, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly and we can discuss.
* One of our most important resources is our complex in Pawcatuck on North Anguilla Rd. As proud as we are of the complex, it does not get that way without hard work and hours of maintenance and care. Our Maintenance Director (Mark Bessette) and Assistant Director (John Blake) provide many hours of work every weekend year-round. Without those volunteers (and several others that are there all the time) we cannot have a season. We are looking for as many volunteers from both towns this season to continue to support the efforts that are needed to maintain out beautiful facility. There will be organized work parties as the season approaches, but if you can spare any time, there is generally someone down there every weekend. If you have any questions or are able to volunteer some time to help - please let me know.
* My final note revolves around COVID and the safety of of our players and volunteers. Last season we were lucky enough to have an uninterrupted (for the most part) Summer and Fall season. Our intention this year is to move forward with a full Spring Season, following all guidance from local authorities as well as Little League International and our District 10 Leadership. We will have specific guidelines in place and will be asking for everyone's adherence and support throughout the season. More details will follow as we move forward.
Once again - thank you all in advance for what I know will be an awesome 2021 season and I look forward to seeing everyone at the fields.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at any time at [email protected]
Have a great day!
